On a beautiful, sunny Spring day, we opened the doors at our new office for our first live KeenTalks. After two years of online events, we were happy to be hosting a face-to-face event. The mood was uplifting and of high energy, with an audience of eager TAs, HR, and recruitment specialists all coming together.
I was the lucky one moderating this evening, making sure that the conversations kept an even flow. The topic of the evening was ‘Why Recruiters are Crucial to Building Europe’s Next Unicorns’ and who best to invite than experts from the field. We asked three unique people who had different experiences working with and at unicorns. Ingeborg van Harten is the Founder and CEO of 7people, a People and Culture consultancy that helps startups and scale-ups to become irresistible organisations. She started her career as a recruiter, worked in HR, has her own company and used to work for Mollie as Head of People. Seated next to her was Kobi Ampoma, Talent Acquisition Lead International at Getir and a big advocate for Diversity & Inclusion in recruitment. He has a degree in HR but loves to work in recruitment. It was met with enthusiasm when he mentioned that recruitment is the energy part of HR. Then Elisa Viaud was introduced, an Organizational Psychologist, Certified Executive Coach (ICF, PCC) and Talent Advisor for startups and scale-ups like Bitvavo. She has previously worked for Tesla and Uber.
